A Secret I Can't Keep

I love music. I mostly like classical or light rock and most of the music I listen to is religious. Every year my church comes up with about ten songs for the young women. It is a more classical CD and I love to sing along. I also have a CD named Not Your Mother's LDS Music meaning that it isn't hymns, but light rock religious. The songs are by many different artists, and I have found I like the artist Cherie Call the best. Her songs have a catchy spirit about them and I find myself singing them on the way to and from school. I really like the song called A Secret I Can't Keep.

This chorus just resounds in my head and lets me know I am a daughter of God. I am so glad I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going.

Articles of Faith

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints. This means I am LDS or Mormon. Some Christians believe that we aren't Christians. This is because we are most commonly called Mormons. They do not know the true name of our church. But we make it very clear in our name that we believe in Christ. We believe that a prophet of God is again on the Earth. Our first prophet, Joseph Smith, wrote the Thirteen Articles of Faith. The Thirteen things that our church is built upon. There have been many false things said about what we believe in so I have decided to list the Articles Of Faith here.

1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisaical glory.

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtues, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

I know that there are many people who have questions about what I believe. I will try to answer them the best I can and may ask my parents for help. But I do not want to be criticized for what I believe. If you don't what to listen to the religious part of by blog you may skip those posts or not visit this site.

Starting

I'd like to thank my Aunt for inspiring me to start this blog. I had thought about it for a while and then she finally said it. So here I am.

To start this blog out I will tell you a few things about myself. I love to read. I mostly read fantasy. I am in book club in school. I love acting and have been in a couple school plays. I love the color purple. My room is purple. I love to be with little children, especially babies. I am learning to cook. Mostly all I know how to cook is deserts and my Dad likes to help with those. I have been playing the piano for five years now and am pretty good. I also love to sing. Singing is a great passion of mine. I am in the top choir at school. I am also in honors English, history (PACE), science, and math (Algebra). I am taking Spanish. I am not very good yet, put I hope to learn to be better. I have younger two brothers. I love them but I hate it when they come in my room or mess up something I am doing.

In this blog I plan to write about my life. This will sort of be my journal, but I probaly won't put anything too personal. I also plan to use this to let people know what I believe to be true. I also plan to use this blog let me better see myself as well.
